Organic farming offers an alternative agricultural system. It initially began in the early in the 20th century. The advent of pesticides brought in its benefits and pitfalls simultaneously. It is more healthy relying on compost manure, green manure, and bone meal.
What We Do
Organic Agriculture
At present COF farm is established at Badulla district, Ambagasdowa Village. Pepper, Vanilla, Turmeric, Ginger , Scotch Bright, Areca nut, Arabica Coffee and coconut cultivation are being established. Also with a small paddy field. COF has taken initiative to promote Organic agriculture among the Farmer Groups of the area.
Organic Fertilizer
Natura Oraganeco Biota is the brand name of COF compost/ Granular fertilizer produced at their Puttalam Plant. This facility is approved by the National Fertilizer Secretariat(NFS) of the Ministry of Agriculture. NFS has certified and quality tested COF Fertilizer for NPK values. Also engaged in producing Azolla powder, N2 Bio Grow Piñnata for high N2 content applications.
Farmer Clustering - COFUVA
COF strength is our farming community. under COFUVA umbrella. there are many farmer societies functioning to provide required spices to the COF processing Plant at Nikathanna, Thaldena, Badulla.
Spice Processing Plant
Value addition spice processing center is established with required State of the Art machinery to produce Spice Powder and Granular form. This includes Fruit processing and drying unit to add value to the product without hindering to its nutritional values.
COF Culture
Through COFUVA , it is planned to support livelihood of Farming Community in order to enhance their Quality of Life. We at COF focused mainly on next generation welfare, hence, Children education will be given priority. COF will support with modern farming techniques, application of Organic Fertilizer, Biochar, reduction of Carbon footprint, value addition to their farming products and will offer better price through Fair Trade arrangements.

COF intends to improve Soil Condition in all Farmer Cluster Groups of COFUVA by providing Organic Fertilizer & Biochar to their Farmlands. COF will take steps to educate Farmers to prepare their own Organic Fertilizer & Biochar as it will have economy of effort, thus directly aiming at reducing the Carbon Footprint.
